Bid Information Service (BIS)The Bid Information Service (BIS) is a user-friendly, interactive, document distribution system that enables subscribers to self-select information about University of Minnesota bid opportunities. This service is available to subscribing vendors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the web. By joining BIS, vendors receive notification of any bid opportunities that are issued in their subscribed category(s). Vendors may subscribe in up to five categories of bid commodities. Follow the link below to proceed to the BIS homepage or read below for more information.

How Does BIS Work?
When a bid is entered on the web, it may be assigned to one or more
categories. Once a bid is completed, it will be made available/visible
to subscribing vendors. Notification will be sent immediately via
e-mail to all vendors in the assigned categories. The e-mail message
will normally* include both a brief text description and the full
bid information as a .pdf file attachment (.pdf files are easily viewed
with Adobe's free Adobe
Reader program, which is available
here).
* Due to the size of some of the .pdf file attachments, occasionally
e-mails may only announce the issuance of a bid with the brief text
description.
Subscribing vendors may also choose to sign-in to BIS with their assigned
ID and password to search through any category. If a bid opportunity
is found in a category not subscribed to, the subscribing vendor may
just click on the bid link to request an immediate download of the
bid information.
What Kind of Information is Available on BIS?
Subscribing vendors will receive request for bids or request for proposals
along with any addendums issued.
In addition to bids, there will be bid or proposal result tabulations
posted and available upon request. Award information for specific
bids or proposals are posted later for review on the web.
