Request For Proposal (RFP) Process
The RFP process is used where requirements cannot be made sufficiently explicit to permit vendor selection based on bid price alone. Requirements are defined as a problem needing a solution. Each vendor's solution will be different. Examples requiring RFP's are Design/Build Construction projects, expensive applications software. Evaluation of proposals are based on a balance of appropriateness of solution, vendor qualifications, vendor financial stability, price, etc. |
