Our Goals

Purchasing Services has set forth the following goals:
  • Maintain structures and procedures that ensure the integrity of the purchasing process.
  • Take strategic action to leverage the University's purchasing power by establishing deep discount contracts and vendor partnerships which provide the best overall value to the University.
  • Provide University departments with a user-friendly, cost effective process for small departmental orders.
  • Package, market, and deliver services which are customized for the specialized needs of University colleges and departments.
  • Maintain an environment for vendors that is inclusive, participatory, and competitive.
  • Maintain a Purchasing staff that is knowledgeable of products, business trends, and technology applications.
  • Be recognized as a department who directly influences in a measurable manner the bottom line of the organization.
